Nancy Schneider — Director of Music Ministries

Nancy Schneider came to Northside in 2012 as our Director of Music Ministries. Involved with church music ministry since childhood, Nancy has over 35 years of experience leading churches to worship God with music.  She loves to encourage and grow musicians of all ages.

As a graduate of Radford University with a degree in Music Education, Nancy studied voice, piano, organ and conducting and loves being able to use these skills in ministry.  She also enjoys teaching and sharing the love of music with her private piano/voice students.

In her spare time, she enjoys watching her daughter perform with the James Madison Marching Royal Dukes, watching her son play football or lacrosse, supporting Young Life, watching Cleveland Browns football games and competing in fantasy football.

Karen Mills – Director of Children and Youth
Karen Mills began serving as the Director of Children and Youth in 2017, though she has been an active participant at Northside since the age of three.  She made her profession of faith at the age of ten and was baptized in the Highland Park location.  She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, and holds endorsements in Middle Education Grades 4-8, Special Education (Emotional Disturbance), Math, and Computer Science.  She has 36 years teaching experience at the middle and high school levels.

Karen has over 30 years experience as a Sunday School teacher of preschoolers, children, and youth.  Through the Dover Baptist Association and Central Virginia Baptist Ministries, she has training in the areas of Children and Youth Ministries.  She believes it is the job of the church to provide a safe haven for our young people while equipping them to live Godly lives in a world that is not. Karen has been married since 1974.  She and her husband, Bob, have four adult children.  In her spare time, Karen can be found cheering on her grandsons on the football or baseball field, watching Washington Nationals baseball or Redskins football games, or supporting Bob in his various musical endeavors.
