Mission Team

Northside is a mission oriented church.  Read below to learn more about some of the missions currently supported by Northside and decide where your talents may best be used.

Loaves & Fishes Sunday

We collect food on the 3rd Sunday of each month and take it to Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions.  To volunteer, see a mission team member or go to MCEF’s website at www.4MCEF.com.

Women’s Missionary Union

The Naomi Circle meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7pm. We would love to have you join us as we pray, learn about and do missions!  We are meeting in members’ homes for a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere as we share the love of Christ through our ministries.  Our on-going projects are:

  • Snacks for faculty and staff of Washington Henry Elementary School
  • Gluten-free items for MCEF
  • Monthly card ministry

We would be delighted to have you join us!  Call the church office for more information.

 Harbour Square

On the 4th Sunday of each month, youth pack and deliver groceries to low income families.  Volunteers are need to purchase groceries once a month.  Do you have two hours to assist with this ministry?

Healing Quilts

Northside’s Quilting Group prepares “Prayer Quilts” upon request from church members or Sunday School Classes who desire to remember others who are experiencing some personal life changing event – health issues, loss of loved one, moving, marriage, birth of a child, retirement.

Forms to submit a request for a quilt are available in the church office hallway.

Our group meets the 1st Monday of each month and enjoys sewing and good Christian fellowship.  We welcome those interested in joining in this ministry.

SO proud of our Inspirations class, as they spearheaded the drive for items for the Boy’s Home in Covington, VA. Our church family responded with great generosity to provide the items on the list of needs for this particular cabin. They packed the church van to the gills and delivered the gifts to happy recipients. Thanks be to God for devoted volunteers and people with a heart to do good for others. Encouraging, joyful, and compassionate– that’s MY church!!!
